Women and Magnesium…

It is a fact that most women need more magnesium. Magnesium is essential for energy production, smooth muscle, and nerve function, heart rhythm, and a healthy immune system, normal blood pressure, and strong bones. Not having enough puts you at risk for migraines and fibromyalgia and can also lead to PMS, menstrual cramps, and osteoporosis. You can get this mineral from daily intake from foods like nuts, seeds, dark green vegetables, unrefined grains, and soy. Healthy women should take supplements to get more than the recommended daily value. Caffeine and alcohol should be avoided since they can deplete magnesium. If you are concerned you are not getting enough magnesium consult your doctor.

Spray Tan

At Jon’Ric we give you a Caribbean glow with our airbrush tanning method. Spray tanning is the easiest, safest way to achieve a tan and is recommended by The American Academy or Dermatologist, The Skin Cancer Foundation, and The American Medical Association. A fine mist is applied by a spray tan technician ensuring an even tan. The active ingredient in spray tans is DHA (Dihydroxyacetone) derived from sugar beets and sugar cane. The DHA penetrates the first (dead) layer of skin reacting with the amino aids and produces a tan color on the skin cells. DHA does not damage the skin and is considered a safe coloring agent and nutritional supplement; no know toxicity and allergic reactions have been reported.

From Wrinkles to Sweat- The Benefits of Botox

Sweat? What? Yes, Botox is FDA approved to stop overactive sweat glands in the underarms as well as eliminate lines and wrinkles on the face caused by everyday expressions and muscle movements. So how does Botox work? Normally, when your body wants a muscle to move, your brain sends electrical messages to the muscles telling them to contract. The electrical message is transmitted to the muscle by a substance called acetylcholine. Botox blocks the release of acetylcholine so that the muscle does not receive the message to contract. Essentially, this means that the muscle has been stopped from moving and is paralyzed. And it won’t move until the Botox starts wearing off in a few months. Come in and see if Botox is right for you?
