Swedish Massage

Swedish Massage is the most commonly known massage. A swedish massage is the perfect massage for someone having their first massage experience. It also helps to promote oxygen flow in the blood and release toxins in the muscles. It helps relieve both physical and emotional stress and can be used as a regular stress management program. We offer this massage type in 30 minutes for $50, 60 minutes for $75, and 90 minutes for $100. We also offer a couples massage which is our 60 minute swedish massage for two people in our couple’s room. It is $130 and that includes both massages.

Hot Stone Massage

Hot Stone Massage is a great treatment especially for those cold winter months. The hot stone massage is done with smoothed, polished river stones.  The heat from the stones helps tight muscles release quicker than a swedish massage and is very relaxing.  The hot stone massage starts out like the swedish massage then the therapist will massage you with the heated stone in your hand. Throughout the message the stones are also placed on specific points on the spine, in the palms, and in between the toes to improve the energy flow in the body. We offer this type of massage in 60 minutes for $85 and 90 minutes for $110.

Deep Tissue Massage

Deep Tissue Massages are very similar in technique to the swedish massage. The deep tissue massage focuses more on the deep layers of the muscles and connective tissues. Deep tissue is very helpful for many conditions and pain. Chronic muscle conditions or injury can cause adhesions which can block circulation and cause pain and the deep tissue massage helps break down the adhesions. We offer this type of message in 30 minutes for $65, 60 minutes for $90, and 90 minutes for $115.

Pre-Natal Massage

Pre-natal massage is a special type of swedish massage for pregnant women. It is done on a special table where the middle is hollowed out for the belly to sit. The baby is very relaxed in this position. The massage can also be done on a regular massage table with the woman lying on her side. The woman must be out of her first trimester before receiving a massage, but she should always consult with her doctor before receiving a pre-natal massage. Carrying the baby changes your posture and center of gravity so the pre-natal massage can help release stress on your back, neck, shoulders and abdomen. We offer this type of massage in 30 minutes for $60 and 60 minutes for $85. 

Reflexology

Reflexology is a type of massage that is done by applying pressure  to the hands and feet. Pressure is applied to the pressure points by the massage therapist, releasing stress and assisting the body in healing.  This method is great for high blood pressure, fatigue, and infertility.  This massage corresponds to the organs and other parts of the body, while relieving stress and tension, and promoting good blood circulation.

Swe-Thai Massage

So you finally got your tattoo and now you want to get rid of it. So what to do? What are some of the methods. jon ric has been doing tattoo removal for about 2 years now with great success often adding some other modalities to increase the effectiveness of the laser treatments.. There are factual realities which one needs to know before venturing into getting a tattoo as well as reemoving it.  Lets  begin!

Tattoos reflect a persons emotional attatchment to another person , cause, hope,the moment ;therfore’, emotionally charged like being liberated from your family and being your own person—-a free bird.  Till mama or your sergeant shows you that is not the case or your lover no longer loves you or your passion has taken another pathway.   Time to get it off!!

Lets consider several factors:color,age,location,amount of ink used,.  Taking color first note that certain colors doing very well with the 1064 quick switch yag laser such as very dark colors;ie, black and some dark blues etc. not so well with green or anything that is mixed with white to lighten the color as white reflects light therefore making it more difficult to treat.  

Location: important in that certain tissue does not have great lymphatic flow such as the fingers, toes , ankles  and make take more treatments.

amount of ink: notable in that the body would ordinarily get rid of most colors but for their large size . It is their large size which allows the laser to break it into fragments called chromophores..We use the cynosure Affinity quick switch which breaks up the dark colors and also the red colors. The accolade is used primarity for those light blue to green colors. Do yu remember the color spectrum in school  ROYGBIV . WEll fundimentally this is the absorption spectrum which allows certain lasers to function for certain colors. In sum, the darker the color the better the 1064, red is 530 and 400 nm is the green..

Number of treatments vary according to the above from 6-12 or perhaps more based on the above considerations.

The innovations today are going out of this world. 

The innovations in facial wrinkle reduction are numerous in this past decade. We have seen how one uses botox to decrease the lines caused by overactive facial muscles around the eyes,forehead and even around the mouth. This was just the beginning. The advent of dermal fillers launched a whole new way of doing something nice for yourself without plastic surgery. It began with dermal fillers such as cosmoderm. This was a bovine(pig) collagen which required pre testing for an allergic response sometimes taking about 2 weeks before starting the treatments. The treatments I found were less than dramatic lasting perhaps 3 months . Very discouraging!!  Along came restalyn which lasted 6 months but was difficult to work with leaving a beady feeling but still a great look.

Juvederm steps up to the plate with 9-12 month longevity and much smoother to work with and now is impregnated with lidocaine which lessens the pain. Personally I use dental blocks which numbs  the area for about 20min giving me more time and less movement of the patient from pain. Patients love the look when I do it in their lips and vertical lip lines. A huge leap in success.

Radiesse is what I call the premier dermal filler lasting 12-18 months not acutally collagen but hyroxyapetite which is a bone element and known to stimulate collagen growth as well as providing deeper areas with filler like around the oral commisures , cheeks and many other places. Love to work with it!!

Lasers have made huge advances in the treatment of lines and tightening with Lasers like the Cynosure Affirm which actually stimulate collagen growth and the Mulitplex system which tightens tissue.

I personally use the Glytone line which is amazing in plumping and tightening, lightening pigments and gives me a versatility that takes care of the patient at home.

We have touched on many ways to attack facial problems but I take pride in steering the patient towards the right modality which will work for them and at a price they can afford.

 The most difficult derm problem with most people is acne. if you look into a person’s cabinet it looks like it is filled with a battlefield of dead soldiers in the form of used tubes of medication which have tried to battle against acne but fell short and landed in this field of fallen meds—the victor was acne.

At jon ric aside from our great estheticians and glytone products which usually addresses the problem from the standpoint of improving the complextion ,gives the patient a fighting chance in this battle.  now to the more difficult cases.The patient who has tried everything in vain. There is levulan or levulinic acid.

This is a very interesting product which works by forming a bond between the bacteria and the levulanic acid over a variable period of time , usually less than an hour. This bond then ,when exposed to uv light usually in the range of 400nm sets off this lethal combination,killing the bacteria. There is a period of time from 3-7 days that an intense exfoliation occurs.
